HOPE
I have been thinking of how sometimes our lives are wired. You may want your life to move towards a certain direction but then things just don't add up. I thought it wise for you to help me reason out on hope, at least zoom and later get it from your own perspective what hope is in the comment section.
Recently we celebrated the heroes in our lives. What they have done in the past is exemplary that it can be remembered by all. I hope you had a hero. Being a hero means a lot. Heroic is the ability to conjure hope when there is none. Think about that for a second. To strike a match to light up a void and to show us a possibility for a better world; not a better world we want to exist but a better world we didn't know could exist.
You will realise that hope goes hand in hand with faith. There is some great why to heroism that they bring to the table- some incredible belief that goes unshaken, no matter what.
Hope is one great pillar that we all lean on in order to achieve our goal or purpose in life. It's a driving force to something. Hold on..... Why Tell someone to "have a nice day" knowing very well that his thoughts and motivation stem from a never ending need to avoid the inherent meaningless of human existence. Hear this the universe clearly doesn't care whether your son sat for KPSEA, KCSE or KCPE and wether they passed or not. It's only you who cares and thats the uncomfortable truth. I hope I am not shuttering your hopes.
A mummy daughter conversation ensued behind me and the mum was like, " students need to study hard and pass and help their parents because some have taken huge loans for them to attend prestigious schools. " The daughter then replied saying, " Yes we really do our best, though mum I believe if one is whole heatedly a good person, then they'll definitely succeed in this life." And then the mum was like, kwanza wewe nataka ufanye harusi. Okay let me stop right there.......
The dire urge to look back, and have a glimpse of those who were speaking mmmmh. Never the less, I continued with my journey.
All this is hope speaking. Our psyche needs hope to survive the way a fish needs water. If we don't believe there's any hope that the future will be better than the present that our lives will improve in some way, then we spiritually die. The opposite of happiness is hopelessness.
Get this, hopelessness is the root of anxiety, mental illness, depression and stress. Hopelessness is the source of all misery and cause of all addiction. Hope is what we believe to be greater than ourselves, without it we are nothing; absolutely nothing. What do you hope for? Anyway
The interesting thing about hope is that it covers the uncomfortable truth of life; that your boss can suck you anytime, that you might loose a friend and many other stories.
Practising faith protects us from the uncomfortable truth. Learn to start at the uncomfortable truth. From there you must slowly build a convincing case for hope. A hope that can carry us to the end of our days with a sense of gratitude and satisfaction.
The better things get the more anxious and desperate we all seem to feel that's why we need that hope to burn within our hearts and keep us pushing for a better future.
........ November is Here.....
Hope! The eye that sees past today. Exciting!
